Gay Marriage Threatened in California (Again!)

I just saw this over at Towleroad. An initiative that would outlaw gay marriage in California has received enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot. If approved by the majority of voters in November, it would overturn the recent California Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage in the state. Read the entire article here.

Recent polls indicate that we are about 50-50 on this issue.
I hope it doesn't pass...

I hope it does not pass also. I will never understand why conservatives are so threatened. I suppose that is what makes them conservatives to begin with.

Well being a conservative area up here in Bakersfield, the county of Kern said they would have the forms to file on the 17th as required by law but conveniently will discontinue preforming all marriages at the courthouse effective June 13th. In effect you would have to go to a licensed pastor/preacher to get married. Now who's gonna sign the paperwork for a gay couple here? You know a church won't do it. Kinda shitty if you ask me.
