200th Post / Survivor Tocantins

This is my 200th post! Yay! Speaking of the 200th post, has anyone been watching this season of Survivor? Is Brendan hot or what? Too bad he got voted off tonight. I hate coach and Tyson...

Brendan Synnott (30)

Hometown: New York, N.Y.

Occupation: Entrepreneur

Brendan Synnott is all about playing the game. Whether it is in front of a classroom teaching entrepreneurial success or taking part in outdoor extreme adventures, he knows how to read the odds.

Raised by a single mom in Connecticut, Brendan pulled himself up by the bootstraps to be the co-founder and CEO of Bear Naked, a natural food brand that was recently acquired by a major corporation. Despite his financial success, he is not all about the money.

Success to him, however, is about more than simply creating, building and selling a thriving business; it's about hard work, passion, fun and surrounding yourself with the best people.

Synnott has always wanted to combine his love of the outdoors with his skills as a leader. In school, he played both football and baseball, and still stays active as much as possible. He loves to compete and says it's a driving force, even in business. It will especially be a driving force on SURVIVOR.

Brendan is single and currently resides in Vail, Colo. His birth date is Sept. 28.

Grey's Anatomy - Last Kiss

I watched this episode from season 4 of Grey's Anatomy last night. It was so sad... It made me cry. :(

The Olympics

I am sure a lot of you saw the Men's 10-Meter Synchronized Diving yesterday. The two men representing the USA are so adorable. I just have to find more pictures of them and post them here.

Thomas Finchum (born December 01, 1989):

David Boudia (Born April 24, 1989):

These two boys not only compete against each other, but they also compete together as a team against other hot boys from other countries. They are good friends with each other, and during the interview, they even said they could finish each other's sentences sometimes. How adorable is that!!! Look how cute they look together.

What's even better about them is that Thomas is 18 and David is 19, so they are both legal. LOL. I am only kidding!!

The X-Files Movie

I thought the X-Files movie sequel doesn't come out until July, but I guess there was some kind of mix-up in the tapes, because I saw it in the theater yesterday. It was a little weird because Mulder changed his name to Indiana Jones and he looked much older. It's a little sad that he had to film so many unoriginal fight scenes at his old age... I must say I was disappointed.

On the other hand, I am VERY excited that The Mole is coming back. It premieres tomorrow at 10 PM on ABC. In case you are not familiar with the show, it's a reality TV show with 12 contestants, and they must work together to win challenges and tasks which are worth different amounts of money. However, one of the contestants is a saboteur hired by the production team to work against the other 11 and prevent them from winning challenges. Each show, the contestants will need to take a quiz about The Mole, and the person with the lowest score is eliminated. The person that lasts until the end wins the jackpot. Interesting, isn't it. It's one of the few TV shows left that really put you on the edge of your seat and make you think! Don't forget to tune in tomorrow!!

BJ 'n the Office

Last night The Boyfriend and I went out to have some BJ's. I love BJ's. I thought our waiter was gay. He was overly friendly with us and I am just not used to having a white guy being nice to me. It must be The Boyfriend, because usually when I go out with Asian friends or family members, we get one of the tables in the corner of the restaurant. So anyway, our waiter was nice and kind of cute. He kept coming by to give us more BJ's............ water. We should have asked him to come home with us and have a hot threesome. (Only kidding!)

Today I began watching The Office (U.S. version). I fell in love with it and am currently doing a The Office Marathon on NetFlix. It's my type of humor... dry and witty. Also there are quite a lot of jokes about racism, sexism, and other stereotypes... which I love to hear and tell if you can't tell from my past blog entries already. I just finished an episode where the boss Mike (Steve Carell) gave awards to the employees, and this Indian girl got the Spicy Curry award. That cracked me up and made me fall off my chair. I can't believe I didn't begin watching the show sooner. A bonus about that show is Jim (John Krasinski). He is very cute, kinda dorky and has a great smile. Ah... can't resist those charming dorky guys.

Gay Movies

Recently I saw two gay-themed movies:

The first movie is called Prom Queen. It's based on a true event about a Canadian high school kid, Marc Hall, who wants to go to his prom with his boyfriend. His request is denied by the school board. Some people (friends, media, lawyer) hear about this and offer their help and support. In the end, they take the case all the way up to the Supreme Court. It's a cute movie and at the same time very inspiring. The actor that plays Marc is Aaron Ashmore and he's great in this movie.

Aaron is also playing Jimmy Olsen on the TV show Smallville. And feel free to laugh at me all you want, but I've always thought he's also Bobby Drake (a.k.a. Ice Man) in the X-Men movie series:

Boy was I wrong! Ice Man is actually played by Aaron's twin brother Shawn Ashmore. This was a surprise for me but a nice one, because I began having some fantasies involving both of them. Maybe they should punish me for getting them confused. :-P

The second movie is Naked Boys Singing.

I first thought it's a musical (with a storyline, music, etc.), but it's actually just a show with a bunch of boys singing various song. There is not a main storyline, so it's a little strange. However, the singing isn't bad, and the show is certainly entertaining (the boys are VERY naked). If you are into that sort of things (I mean artistic display of human forms and well-composed and performed melodies), then you should definitely watch this movie.

The Amazing Race

I am so excited! Last night on The Amazing Race, the teams got to go to Taiwan! I think this was the first time that the show ever had the contestants go to Taiwan. I've always thought that there's some political issues involved (because of China) that discourage the show producers not to go there. It was so nice to see it on national TV! One of the teams was a father and daughter team. Right after they said that they thought they were smarter than the other teams, they showed the guy from another team saying, "I don't know anything about Taiwan, but I like Thai food!" OMG! What an idiot! Thai food is from Thailand, not from Taiwan! And he also pronounced the city "Taipei" as "Ta-Pie". You would think that they would do some studying before going on the show. I know I would. I don't want to look stupid on national TV.

So anyway, they showed various locations in Taiwan, and I was happy that they all looked very clean. I also got the same comments from my coworkers today. They were surprised at how clean the places looked. Hopefully at the beginning of next week's episode (finale), the teams will get to go up Taipei 101!

Thoughts on Recent Events

The fires are still burning in many places in Southern California. Many people donated money and offered shelter for the evacuees. At the same time, some other people are pretending to work for charity organizations and soliciting money, and some even broke into other people's houses. Not to mention the bastard(s) who started the fire in Orange County. Events like Hurricane Katrina and the SoCal fires bring the best and the worst out of people. This got me thinking... are people born as good or evil?

Are people born as good, caring, and kind? It's the adults, society, media then corrupt our minds and put the thoughts of doing bad deeds in our brain? Or are people born as evil, and then our parents and education correct and help us go down on the "right path?" Did the people that looted the stores after Katrina do it just to take advantage of the situation, or did they do it merely to survive? Well, I guess that depends on what they actually stole, huh? If they stole jewelry and electronics, then they probably took advantage of the situation, but if they stole food to feed their families, then I am not so sure I wouldn't do the same thing.

Recently I fell in love with a new TV show - Extreme Makeover - Home Edition. The show has been around for a while but I never paid much attention to it. It's about this group of home builders and designers going around the U.S., helping people going through difficult times in their lives and can't afford to live in a decent home rebuild. The stories of these peoples' lives are always very touching, and it just warms up my heart when I see them getting a real home built for them and how happy the builders and designers made them. It makes me cry every time I watch the show. I am such a wuss, I know. But it makes me feel good to know that there are people willing to help other people out there.

Cheese & Wine

Ok boys and girls, I am about to whine like a bitch. Hold the cheese. I just want wine.

Rant #1: Why can't I watch Ugly Betty on ABC's website? I was able to do so for the entire second season, but when I tried to watch it now, it's saying that only U.S. viewers can view the full episodes. Uh... the last time I checked, I think California is still a part of the U.S., isn't it? Unless Arnold wants to become president so bad that he is declaring independence. In case you are wondering why I just don't watch it when it comes on... well... Instead of watching Ugly Betty, I was drooling over Pretty Erik on Survivor: China. Isn't he adorable? I hope he wins.

Rant #2: I am going to Disneyland tomorrow with The Boyfriend, but I still don't know what I will wear. Well, I know what I will be wearing underneath, but not on the outside. Should I try to find the leather daddy outfit in my closet, or the pink Power Ranger one? This is frustrating...

Rant #3: Why do we waste our tax money on CHP officers so they can camp on freeways and give out tickets to people who choose not to wear seat belts? If they don't want to wear seat belts, let them! It's their personal choice. It's not affecting any bit of my life at all! Just because someone might want to commit suicide by jumping off a tall building, it doesn't mean we need to pay a bunch Dunkin Donuts (or Krispy Kream) VIPs to stay on the roofs of all the tall buildings. Just because someone might want to starve themselves to death, it doesn't mean we need to have the police knock on everyone's door to make sure we are all eating. Respect other people's personal choices! It's a free country!
